FIRS Issues Public Notice on Prosecution of Tax Offences
In an effort to encourage tax compliance, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS or “the Service”) recently issued a Public Notice (PN) informing the public of its intention to henceforth, prosecute all tax offences, including tax evasion, tax fraud, failure to deduct or remit tax, obstruction, false declaration, counterfeiting of documents, failure to file returns, amongst others.
